MX-5 Cup teams are ready to go for the 2010 season.

TOPEKA, Kan. – MAZDASPEED chose the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show to announce the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup schedule. The 2010 schedule keeps with the theory of the latest MX-5 vehicle updates; making small changes to an already strong product.

In creating the 2010 schedule, Mazda sought to reduce travel costs for MX-5 Cup teams while increasing the amount of track time. It was also important to minimize conflicts with other major race weekends and give MX-5 Cup participants the opportunity to experience the best race tracks in North America. With a total of 11 races on eight weekends, it appears as though Mazda has done just that. Read more

BOWMANVILLE, Ont. CANADA (May 18, 2008) – Robert Huffmaster, of Clarkston, Mich., put on a rain racing clinic at Mosport International Raceway en route to his first SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup win. Polesitter Eric Foss, of Fort Worth, Texas, finished second and Brett Smrz, of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, completed the podium for Round Two of the series, part of Victoria Day Speedfest.

Unlike Round One at Road Atlanta, setup was not a guessing game for the MX-5 Cup field, as a steady rain had been falling across the 2.459-mile circuit for nearly an hour and worsened as the cars made their way to pre-grid. Read more
